Salon hygiene

Salon hygiene

Hygiene is important in many industries but particularly in hairdressing when staff are dealing directly with the general public. Indeed, there is legislation on health and hygiene in the workplace, which means the salon is required by law to make sure that it is a safe place for both clients and staff. It is a good idea to look at leaflets published about this and these can be obtained through the local Environmental Health Department.
Each salon will have its own preferences and procedures for making sure that it is kept clean and tidy and that the tools and equipment are sterilised after use.
