A great place for hairdressing students to help each other and get answers to their questions!

Massage Techniques

Postby Hair Raider » 14 Jan 2011 07:29 pm

Hi Everyone,
Knowing me I've proberly placed this thread in the wrong location, but to me it seems the perfect place!!

I started my Hairdressing Apprenticeship 6-7 months ago, but I still do not know how to massage the clients head correctly. I do a basic massage, but have no idea of how to do the other techniques, such as the Effleurage, Pettrisory, Friction or Rotary.

Any help?

A good way for You to discover a new head massage is to go around different hair salon to get your hair wash.
Experiencing it first is all in favor to understand , pressure ,timing, movement, and so on.
Good Luck

I agree, that would be a fab way to experience it, but the cheapest blow-dry in my area is £15 pounds!!
I can't afford to go aorund the salons in town for a blow-dry!!

I have been told that I'm getting better, so the one I did do must have shown me something!

Sorry for the late reply, I've been so busy!!!
