HOW TO CURL HAIR USING CERAMIC HAIR STRAIGHTENER

Postby chris the limey » 21 Jul 2007 08:41 pm

How long have you owned a pair of ceramic straighteners? 2 years, maybe 3 or more?

If you thought that now beautiful tumble down curls have made the headlines of every fashion magazine that your ceramic straighteners will go into retirement; think again!

In this article we show you how to create those luscious curls using a pair of ceramic hair straighteners!

Creating Curls with Slimline Ceramic Hair Straighteners

Step 1
Image

Section off the hair as usual by starting underneath and working upwards towards the top of your client\'s hair.

Take your first section on a slight angle and slide the ceramic straightener down the hair shaft from the root to the tip (as if straightening the hair in the usual manner). This warms up the hair ready for curling.

Step 2

Next; place the ceramic straightener back at the beginning of the section about 2-3 inches away from the root. Make sure you have the hair clamped evenly between the plates and that the straighteners are at a 45 degree angle.

Turn the ceramic straightener anti-clockwise whilst keeping the hair clamped within it (as if you were curling the hair underneath with a brush). Swap hands and hold the ends of the hair yet to be curled upwards and away from you with your right hand.

The back of the straighteners will now be facing you (hidden underneath the hair coming from the root).

Step 3
Image

Keeping an even tension on the ends of the hair with your right hand, pull the ceramic straightener down and away from the root. The hair yet to go through the straightener should form a \'triangle\' with the hair that has been through already (as can be seen in the picture).

Keep sliding the straightener all the way down the hair and finally let go of the ends as they slide through the straightener.

Step 4

As soon as the ends slide out of the straightener, the hair will \'bounce up\' into a loose curl!

See; that was easy.

Great Tip
To alter how curly the hair ends up, try out different angles. For instance, if you make a large or wide \'triangle shape\' with the hair when sliding the straightener down the shaft in step 3, the result will be a loose wave. If you make a very narrow or tight \'triangle shape\' in step 3, the curl will be tighter.

Experiment and have fun!
