I have the book those techniques came out of, it is called The ARt of Hair Coloring by David Adams and Jacki Wadeson. Try looking for it on Amazon or through Milady/Delmar Publishing.

The Icing technique- was pre lightened, then using Blue concentrate in one icing applicator and violet concentrate in the other icing applicator, drawing lines down the hair just like appling a string of frosting to a cake, with the first color, then drop a small subsection and repeat using the second color leaving spaces between lines repeat until there are no sections left to drop down, use a foil to \"smudge\" or gently rub color together and allow to develop.

If you would like more info, let me know, we have tried most of the techniques in the book and because I work with students, they often come up with ideas I would never dream up all on my own.

Thanks Jeni---

If you could, I\'d love you to send details on the middle technique -- the Circles Technique. I\'ll keep the book name to pursue more ideas later.
Also would this work with Majirel on medium tone hair. I use it for gray coverage.

The Cirlcle technique-
1. ection the hair into four circles around the head (just below parietal bone, crest, crown and top)
2. The first color on bottom circle scalp to ends, cover with foil
3. Apply second color, scalp to ends, cover with foil
4. apply 3rd color to section 3
apply second colr to top section, develop, finish as required.

the picture used light caramel blond, deep auburn and rich copper.

Any color line will work as long as the colors are within a few shades of each other and in similar tone.

Yes, a frosting bag with a 22 straight tip works also. (less expensive and the bags are dispoesable fo easier clean up.)
Pictured in the book is an actual frosting applicator- I\'ll admit laziness, I don\'t want to try and keep track of the small pieces involved.

Wow! these are great!!! A friend of mine did something quite similar to the circles technique and achieved an awesome cascaded look ...(sorry don\'t know how else to explain it lol)

I can\'t wait to try these out! :D
