hey!!
I recently qualified in June and lookin for job....! Im 23 and went to college so didnt do an apprenticeship but worked as a junior for about a year. Finding it really difficult to find employment due to lack of experience. Am presently working for a company where I\'m really not happy.
Any suggestions on where and what I should be looking for?? Or am i just waiting for someone to give me a chance...???

Have you looked in the hairdressing jobs listed at the top of each page?
http://www.hairdressingworld.com/compon ... Itemid,49/
Have you got your resume out?
Are you willing to be an apprentice?

Kirdy,
Unfortunately your story is not unusual.
You go to a college and they say "when you have your piece of paper with NVQ 2 written on it, you will be a QUALIFIED hairdresser", and of course, many like you are led to believe that this means you will be qualified to be able to attend and interview and get a job as a hairdresser...just like the girl who has cut your hair for the past couple of years.
And then reality hits. Once you have that piece of paper, the world doesn't change. Infact, if you excuse my language, you discover that the piece of paper really means "jack shit".
2 years wasted at college and no job at the end of it due to "lack of experience".
It makes me really sad.
