Hey everyone,
I was wondering if you think this would work:

Instead of having a retail area as such, have a vending machine. It could vend semi-permanent colours, hair accessories, hair straighteners and gift cards.

The advantages being that it cuts out theft completely, and can easily be re-stocked. It also doesn't require constant polishing as everything's behind the glass screen.

What do you think?

And as a side note, I wonder why big clothes shops aimed at teenage girls don't have a brightly coloured hair colour vending machine in their stores next to accessories rather than losing out to the drug-stores/supermarkets for the home hair-colour market?

Very ingenious Chris! I think especially younger shoppers would go for this.
Although I have to say I'm so small and tucked away at my salon that I have vertually no theft. But I can see if you were in a Mall or a really high traffic area where this could be an uber good.

Am I reading this right? It would vend haircolor to the public? I can see that system literally cutting in to my profit, But hey!!..vending shampoo, conditioners, hair accessories..Kewl idea. Pay by debit, paper money or Credit cards..Awesome!

No Jazz...I wouldn't vend hair colour in my salon, but I was just wondering why big clothes shops in the fashion industry don't do that? I think it would go down a storm!

I looked on eBay for vending machines and they cost quite a bit so I don't think I'll be trying this out anytime soon, but it's something I'd like to try out in the future.
