I believe you are never too old to start a career. Especially at 20 yrs old. At this age you have the freedom to work the hours that fit your lifestyle. At 16 you still live at home, and under the lifestyle of your parents. Never give up your dreams.

Pink girlie.....all I can say is go for it.....As Deedee said its never too late.
I, at the age of 34, decided I would go to college to do hairdressing......I loved it and personally found being a bit older I took it in more....I am soooooooo glad I did it, so dont worry about your age..the oldest person on my course was 47!!!!

At 20, you are still just a child, god bless ya.
I'd be thrilled to have a 20 year old assistant instead of a 16 year old.
The first 3 months with a 16 year old is teaching them how a washing machine works, and what colour a decent cup of tea should look like.
Those 3 months could be condensed to 2 days with a 20 year old, and the rest of the time spent actually learning hairdressing.
Can you support yourself financially whilst you are learning?
If you are going to make the decision to try it, you should do so soon as the new courses usually begin in September.

I was 20 when I got into it, you just need to grab the bull by the horns. If you think you would really be interested in it and you have tried other things and are here or "hair" in your life, then go for it. You will be focused on the goal starting at 20 rather than 16. If it feels like the right thing then go for it!!

Good Luck!!
